DESCRIPTION:Between July and August\, an itinerant exhibition was organized in the heart of the hills of Asolo and Montello. This fascinating initiative combines contemporary art with wine tradition\, creating a perfect marriage that conquers the senses and the soul of participants with events organized by the MoCA Association\, Arte Laguna Prize and the organization of the Wine Route – Asolo and Montello.\n“Pozas in the cellars” is not only an artistic event\, but an exciting tour among four cellars that have welcomed more than 40 works by the Cuban artist Pozas\, best-selling artist of the 17th edition of Arte Laguna Prize. \nTenuta Baron was founded by Domenico “Nico” Baron who bought Villa Persicini in the 70s. Inside the property of the villa there was an old winery that has been completely renovated\, and now\, thanks to its founder\, the villa has regained its former glory and the winery has become the center of the production of Baron wines.  \n\n\n  \nPOZAS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSelf-taught painter who\, after finishing his studies in Electrical Engineering\, decided to leave his job to devote himself entirely to painting. His production is part of three trends\, from the abstract to the search for the deepest self\, the landscape as an expression of its relationship with nature\, and the psychic structuralism as a connection with reality that is perceived. Today the estate has three vineyards from which three different types of wine are produced\, reflecting the variety of the territory.  \nThe vineyard is cultivated thanks to sustainable agriculture\, since it is important to preserve the fertility of the soil so that it can be left to future generations\, just as Silvia and Simone\, the second generation of Rech\, have inherited it. DESCRIPTION:In the heart of the city of Venice there is a wonderful exhibition space where artists can show their best works in one of the most important cities in the world. Spazio San Luca has hosted Qian Wu during the period of the exhibition Arte Laguna Prize as a Collateral Event. \nThe opening night was held on 12 March\, giving great visibility to the artist. It was the first time that the artist exhibited his works outside of China and Asia. \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the artist \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQIAN WU\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Xiamen\, China\, he started making art at an early age. He graduated from the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University and holds a master’s degree from the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. From 2011 to 2016 he studied at Art Studies League in New York. His technique is very particular\, using a traditional Chinese ink to connect the Eastern and Western worlds. The main concept behind his works is the abstract that becomes reality and exceeds the horizon. On this occasion\, it did so in collaboration with the 12th Laguna Art Prize\, which gave Swatch the opportunity to choose\, from a variety of artistic proposals\, Jeff Leake as the winner of a three-month residency in this unique space\, which includes 18 studios where artists live and work in a stimulating urban environment.  \nJeff Leake arrived in Shanghai on June 14 to begin this new and exciting adventure. As he says\, it has been one of the most incredible experiences of his career\, which has already had a significant impact on his art.\n“Having this space and so much time devoted solely to art making is a gift that has allowed me to grow and explore new directions in my work.” \nFor Jeff\, one of the most important aspects of an art residency is the people you come into contact with. \nThanks to one of his fellow residents at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel\, he met the gallerist at Ying Gallery (Beijing)\, who decided to organize an exhibition featuring the works of Jeff Leake and two other artists\, Jamie M. Lee and Jiang Peiyuan. \nThe exhibition will present works that Jeff created during his stay in China\, a group of paintings on wood strongly influenced by his experience with Swatch\, which can be seen as a reflection on the complexity of cultural interactions. The paintings are cut out in stylized cloud shapes\, conveying the idea that what we see in clouds often reveals something true about us. One of the main themes running through Jeff’s work is the difference between the intentional message of the stories and symbols we use to convey cultural ideals\, and the way we actually interact with our environment and others.   \n \nJeff Leake \nCalifornia-based Jeff Leake holds a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from UC Davis. DESCRIPTION:The solo exhibition “KYORAI (去来): Coming and Going” by Japanese artist Akihiko Sugiura (Hyogo\, 1979) is the result of a collaboration between Premio Arte Laguna and JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY(New Orleans)\, which selected Akihiko as the winner of the Special “Artist in Gallery” Award of the 13th edition of Premio Arte Laguna.\nThe exhibition will be on view from May 29 to July 15 at the gallery space in New Orleans\, USA. The opening will be held on Saturday\, June 1\, from 6 to 9 p.m.  \nJONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY was immediately attracted to the artist’s dreamlike figurative paintings. His body of work rejects conventional views of painting\, and his moving\, imaginative and slightly disturbing images challenge the very idea of portraiture through the use of landscape and abstract motifs. At the same time\, the artist wants to bring viewers back to reality through the inclusion of empty spaces and the arrangement of concrete materials on the canvas. The gallery has always sought to exhibit works by innovative artists who push the limits of their medium and style\, and Akihiko’s work succeeds in doing just that. In his paintings\, Akihiko depicts characters that represent various questions of modern times such as: Are we dead or alive? What is gender? Are humans something else? Real or virtual? As the artist himself states\, “In my work\, there is also a sense of being invited back into a world of imagination. Everything can be interpreted in many ways.
