In the heart of the city of Venice there is a wonderful exhibition space where artists can show their best works in one of the most important cities in the world. Spazio San Luca has hosted Qian Wu during the period of the exhibition Arte Laguna Prize as a Collateral Event.
The opening night was held on 12 March, giving great visibility to the artist. It was the first time that the artist exhibited his works outside of China and Asia.
About the artist
Born in Xiamen, China, he started making art at an early age. He graduated from the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University and holds a master’s degree from the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. From 2011 to 2016 he studied at Art Studies League in New York. His technique is very particular, using a traditional Chinese ink to connect the Eastern and Western worlds. The main concept behind his works is the abstract that becomes reality and exceeds the horizon. He is currently working and continues to organize solo exhibitions.
