BRAS | Sjoerd Bras – Solo exhibition

In the heart of the city of Venice there is a wonderful exhibition space where artists can show their best works in one of the most important cities in the world. Spazio San Luca hosted Sjoerd Bras during the month of July and August with his most famous works.
La serata di apertura si è tenuta il 6 luglio, dando grande visibilità all’artista. The main work “The Deer” represents this delicate animal in an ethereal dream.
His work can be called figurative, searching for a world behind reality, the intangible. From life behind the scenes you have no control over. Quoting the artist: “While I paint, I come across things that lift a veil but remain elusive. It can be of all times, present, past, but also of the world different from ours. The color is important, for me the color has an emotional value, determines the path that makes your feeling. My paintings are often large, I feel comfortable with small sizes too. Lately I use stones in my paintings. This is the result of my passion for stones that I found in the moor.”
